The following information is from the most recent calendar, and you may be following the progress requirements of a previous calendar. Students are responsible for checking the appropriate schedule. The progression requirements for the Honours BKin program are based on the average grades (GPA) of all courses taken and are calculated cumulatively. For year-to-year progress, the requirements are a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.00 (C) in kinesiology and physical education courses and a minimum overall cumulative average (including KP courses) of 5.00 (C). To earn the BKin Honours degree, the requirements are a minimum cumulative GPA of 7.00(B) in kinesiology and physical education courses, a minimum overall GPA (including KP courses) of 5.00(C), and completion of all program requirements (including 96 hours of leadership/activity experience). A BKin degree (without distinction) is awarded when all program requirements are met and a cumulative GPA between 5.00 and 6.99 in kinesiology and physical education courses and a minimum overall cumulative average (including KP courses) of 5.00(C) is achieved.
Admission to the management option requires an overall average in the 80s and additionally meets the admission requirements for your major. Kinesiology is the study of human movement, sport and physical activity. Study psychology, motor control, biomechanics, physiology and health in world-class sports and kinesiology facilities. Graduates of our program work as occupational therapists and physiotherapists, teach in schools across the province, practice as registered physicians, chiropractors and kinesiologists, pursue careers in sports administration, personal physical training or first responders, or create businesses for themselves. Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) – Overall score of the 176th Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) – 59 total or more. Options range from six to 10 courses and can be added to many of our programs. Students can focus their studies in one of four optional areas of concentration (2.5 credits). Formal recognition of concentration appears only on transcripts of students earning BKin honours degrees. The Bachelor of Kinesiology is considered competitive and requires outstanding academic performance in college courses and required high school courses to be eligible. The place for transferred students is subject to availability depending on the number and caliber of applicants.
